Dilwale (transl. Braveheart) is an Indian Hindi 2015 action romantic comedy film directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Gauri Khan[4] Distributed by Red Chillies Entertainment, it stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Varun Dhawan, and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles,[5] while marking the last film appearance of actor Vinod Khanna, who played the role of Khan and Dhawan's father, before his death on 27 April 2017. Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Boman Irani, Pankaj Tripathi, Mukesh Tiwari, Chetna Pande and Kabir Bedi appear in supporting roles.

The film was released theatrically worldwide on 18 December 2015 during the pre-Christmas period. Although the film’s domestic collection was considered below expectations, grossing over ₹150 crore net domestically, it became the sixth highest-grossing Indian film overseas.[6] The film grossed more than ₹376.85 crore globally.[7] The film earned nominations in six categories at the 61st Filmfare Awards, including Best Actor for Khan and Best Actress for Kajol.[8]
